About Us
Inked Monkey Productions
Well, time has a way of altering courses, and the fellows at Inked Monkey found themselves drawn into other ventures that had nothing to do with their original plans. After three music videos and a promotional video for a major soft drink brand, as well as a number of other independent commercial productions, Inked Monkey slowly realized that its true talents and purpose lay outside the realm of entertainment. In 2009, Inked Monkey Productions opened its doors officially as a video production company aimed at the business and consumer markets, with a committment to provide quality videos at a reasonable price. Tim Brown- Owner, Videographer, and EditorIt all started with a Kodak Brownie 8mm camera in then-8-year-old Tim Brown's hands. After shooting that first reel of film, he was hooked on making movies. It began with stop-motion photography and some Star Wars toys, and by the time he was 17, Tim was filming and editing weddings with an RCA VHS Camcorder he borrowed from his grandfather. Tim Brown studied Biology, Chemistry, and Art at Memphis State University, where he also spent five years studying classical voice and opera. After exhausting his financial aid, he left school and found work as an accountant, where he spent the next 15 years toiling behind a computer screen and calculator. Tim spent his spare time pursuing a variety of interests during his days in accountancy. He appeared in local theatre productions, played piano and sang in a multitude of weddings, learned costume design and construction, became a puppeteer, and developed a love of giant backyard movie screens. It was also during this time that Tim learned the art of video editing and found his true calling. Tim has had his videos displayed at San Diego ComicCon and countless other smaller conventions throughout the Continental United States. He has produced memorial videos for actors Christopher Reeve and George Reeves for the City of Metropolis, Illinois and their annual Superman Celebration, and has spent the last two years producing their annual Fan Film Competition and providing all of their audiovisual needs for their Artists Alley. He also designed their website and currently serves as webmaster. Tim serves as the audiovisual monkey for the Haunted Web of Horrors in Memphis, TN- a haunted house benefiting Youth Villages of Memphis. Since founding Inked Monkey Productions in 2004, Tim has been able to bring his talents as an editor and videographer to fruition, and has learned to use all of his creative talents to help his clients improve their productions and make them entertaining and engaging.
